[Katsuki says smugly, and nods toward the cloth napkin that's been provided with the cutlery. Go on, wipe your face and blow your nose - spice like that is basically like prying open every part of your body that can secrete some kind of fluid, and Katsuki is already expecting this poor kid to start sweating, too. It's just the body's natural response to try and cool itself off and flush out the capsaicin.
He picks up his food, grinning, and takes a bite. Yes, he feels the stinging bite of spice, but Katsuki has built up such a tolerance to it that it's little more than a pleasant tingle and a rushing warmth that he loves. He chews and swallows, taking a bite of rice to pair nicely with it, which also does soak up some of that heat as well. He doesn't batt an eye.]
Haah? [He's practically singing.] I'm just used to it - you build up a tolerance after a while...and I been eating spicy food since I was toddler.
[ Alberto takes the hint to grab the napkin. He doesn't take the hint to wipe the snot and sweat off his face. He uses the napkin to wipe off his tongue miserably, uncontrollable tears still in his eyes. This is the worst culinary experience he's maybe ever had, barring the times he ate things that weren't technically food — which... arguably don't count as culinary experiences.
After several licks of the napkin, just as Alberto thinks he's gaining his senses again, he starts coughing. All of this is just too much. He can't help but wonder if he just ate poison—? What if this is some kind of human food that's toxic to sea monsters?! ...Welp, gonna have to just wait and see. Not the first time he's had to wait and see if he'd eaten something poisonous (see above)...
He sips some milk to ease his coughing fit; it works, but his throat's never been dryer. His voice is hoarse still, but he has to ask— ]
Are you human?
[ A reasonable question. At least in Somnius, it is. ]
[Oh, that's definitely problematic, and Katsuki grimaces. Child, he will hose you down if you don't clean yourself up somewhat, because that shit's nasty and has no business being around a dinner table. He grumbles something along those lines, shifting his chair and his plates several inches away from this little urchin, stomach churning and appetite decreasing by the second.
And while Alberto is not technically wrong - plants most certainly do produce these sort of chemicals as a defense mechanism against predators like insects, birds, and other animals, which would be somewhat toxic to them...humans has clearly no self-preservation instinct and have cultivated these so-called "toxic plants" for centuries and consume them on the regular. Coffee beans, caffeine more specifically, is technically a "poison" for a lot of animals, but people consume more of it than they realize. Hell, they are highly dependent on the substance.]
Pfft--...much as people think otherwise, I am.

He sips more milk, eyeing Katsuki dubiously over the lip of the cup as he scoffs amusedly at Alberto's question. Alberto fails to see the humor in his answer, though. He asks a follow-up question just as earnestly, voice tempered despite the slight rasp. ]
